Fish and products consumption in Poland - tendencies and factors

Tendencies and factors of fish and their products consumption per capita in Poland were presented in the paper in a period of 1990-03, if possible also in 2004 and forecasts for 2005. Incomes of population and retail prices of fish and products we analysed. They were the most decisive factors determining consumption. Fish and fish products supply on the domestic market depended on fish catches, exports and imports of fish and their products (a balance sheet approach). Analysed factors showed that implied in Sectoral Operational Programme level of fish and their products consumption in Poland aimed at 8 kg per capita in 2006 was unrealistic
