A Computer Model for Selection of Farm Machinery

A computer model was developed for selection of farm machinery. The model was built up using Pascal computer programming language in which input data were inserted through the ftle system, and the output data were obtained easily in the screen or as print-out. The validity of the model was tested with field data from two agricultural private companies using two types of heavy disc harrow, a seeder and a ridger with three types of tractors. The results showed close agreement between the field measurements and the compuer model predictions. The sensitivity analysis of the model revealed .that changes in any of the parmeters used can directly affect the output of the model such as machine size or tractor power. The accuracy of the model was also tested statistically. It was concluded that the model can be helpful in proper machinery management and quick decision making
