Plant disease control by means of antagonistic fungi has been widely accepted as a promising strategy and has no harzadous residues to the environment and ecosystem. This study was carried out to determine production, shelf-life and efficacy of Gliocladium virens alginate formulations in controlling disease caused by Sclerotium rolfsii in greenhouse trial. The findings showed that the formulation consisting of liquid fermentor biomass has longest shelf-life, 7 months at ambient temperature and more than 15 months at 5 deg C, and gave better disease control result. Futhermore, two types of package, polythene and aluminium foil bags, showed no difference in survival of G. virens propagules.
