Chao Phraya river, which is located in the centre of the Central Plain Thailand, is the main resources for agriculture, irrigation, transportation, culture and socio-economic of the local people. In the recent year, the river bank erosion are emerging over completing demand of land. While, the sediments from eroded area are deposited downstream and reduced river flow velocity. This is leading to unstable of river bed and changable direction flow of the river. The study was set up for determining the bank erosion and deposition by using aerial photo in 1975 and 1994. The result showed that the northern river zone located between Muang district Nakhon Sawan province and Muang district Chinart province. In this zone, the river bank erosion area in the west is 15 sites (3.56 square km) and in the east 14 sites (2.15 square km), while deposition area in the west is 8 sites (1.52 square km) and in the east 20 sites (3.48 square km). The river in this zone has a trendeney to move forward to the west. The southern zone located between Muang district Chinart province and Muang district Phra Nakhon Si Autthaya province. In this zone, the river bank erosion area in the west is 15 sites (1.41 square km) and in the east 19 sites (4.13 square km), while deposition area in the west is 13 sites (1.97 square km) and in the east 7 sites (1.15 square km). The river in this zone has a trendency to move forward to the east.
