[Possible ecological consequences of constuction of the Tuzla Dam (the Kerch Strait)]

Considered are results of a preliminary ecological expertise of the unlawful construction of the Tuzla dam (the Kerch Strait) by the Russian part at the end of 2003 in the area of Tuzla scour and expected changes in the ecosystem of the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov. The changes in the ecosystem of the Sea of Azov and the level of fish productivity and also of regimes and circulation of the biocenoses in water depth are shown. Coming of organic matters into the sea bottom horizons and bottom sediments is stated. The suggestions on the identity of the oceanographic conditions in the region of the Kerch Strait up to 1925 and after the construction of the dam are fully rejected. Calculated indices of the supposed changes in the part of water dynamics and oxygen regime are presented. Changes in the dynamic conditions in the area of the dam and their ecological concequences are analysed. Increasing in the frequency and intensity of fish kill phenomena is noticed. The following conclusions are drawn: reconstruction of the Tuzla spit as the dam (2003) will cause, and already causes, a number of negative ecological consequences, barriers for seasonal fish migration will appear, the probability of summer fish kill phenomena from the eastern side of the dam will increase for the reason of lowering the water dynamism at the adjacent water areas.

Рассматриваются результаты предварительной экспертной экологической оценки возведения дамбы в конце 2003 г. в районе Тузлинской промоины и предполагаемые изменения состояния экосистемы Керченского пролива и Азовского моря. Показаны изменения экосистемы Азовского моря и уровня его рыбопродуктивности, а также режимов и циркуляции биоценозов в водной толще. Отмечается поступление органики в придонные горизонты и в донные осадки моря. Отвергаются предположения об идентичности океанографических условий в районе Керченского пролива до 1925 г. и после сокрушения дамбы. Представлены расчетные показатели предполагаемых изменений в части динамики вод, техромохалинной структуры и кислородного режима. Анализируются изменения динамических условий в районе дамбы и их экологические последствия. Отмечается увеличение частоты и интенсивности заморных явлений. Сделаны следующие выводы: восстановление косы Тузла в виде дамбы (2003 г.) обусловит ряд негативных экологических последствий, возникнут препятствия для сезонных миграций рыбы, увеличится вероятность летних заморных явлений с восточной стороны дамбы из-за снижения динамизма вод на прилегающих акваториях.
