[Membrane methods to purify liquid wastes from the object “Ukryttya" (Shelter)[at the Chornobyl NPP]

English. Studied is the practical use of ultra- and nanofiltration methods while treating liquid radioactive wastes (LRW) from the object “Ukryttya” (the Shelter)(at the Chornobyl NPP). It relates to the trans-uranium elements and subsoil waters, membrane methods of treatment of which have recommended themselves in polluted areas as those effective. Data on results of the combined use of the membrane methods of subsoil water treatment against multicharge ions of the strontium isotope (79-82%), uranium isotope (79-82%) and a monocharge ion of the caesium isotope are given. Decribed is the process of transition of the monocharge ion of the caesium isotope and other ions, while they are retained on the membrane in microamounts, when at certain changes in the osmotic pressure, concentration of multicharge ions, including tranuranium elements, becomes possible. The possibility of preliminary treatment of the LRW from the object “Ukryttya” against the trans-uranium elements (plutonium, americium)and also uranium, strontium, caesium is substantiated. The membrane methods to treat natural waters against isotopes of caesium, strontium, uranium and trans-uranium elements are considered as expedient ones in the zone of the ChNPP accident and also in regions where uranic ore fields and processing are located.

Ukrainian. Исследуется практическое использование методов ультра- и нанофильтрации в очистке радиоактивных отходов (ЖРО) из объекта "Укрытие". Это касается трансурановых элементов и ґрунтовых вод, мембранные методы которых хорошо зарекомендовали себя в радиоактивно загрязнённых зонах. Приведены данные о результатах совместного использования мембранных методов очистки грунтовых вод от многозарядных ионов изотопа стронция (79-82%), изотопов урана (79-82%) и однозарядного иона изотопа цезия (21-46%). Описывается процесс перехода однозарядного иона изотопа цезия и других ионов при их задержке на мембране в микроколичествах, когда при определённых изменениях осмотического давления становится возможной концентрация многозарядных ионов, в т. ч. и трансурановых элементов. Обосновывается возможность предварительной очистки ЖРО из объекта "Укрытие" от трансурановых (плутоний, америций), а также урана, стронция и цезия. Мембранные методы очистки природных вод от изотопов цезия, стронция, урана и трансурановых элементов целесообразно использовать в зоне аварии на ЧАЭС и в районах добычи и переработки урановых руд.
