Mean abundance of zooplankton in the Gulf of Thailand during 1976-1994 were slightly increase evidently. The patterns of zooplankton distribution was unchanged. Plankton volumes in the inner Gulf of Thailand were prominently high in the upper and western areas while low volumes were observed in the southern area. Mean zooplankton volume per station in the Gulf of Thailand during 1976-1994 ranged from 38.3-103.8 ml per 100 cubic meters of water strained. The plankton abundance in the western Gulf of Thailand tend to be concentrated in the coastal waters. The average volumes of zooplankton per station during 1977-1994 ranged from 18.9-88.6 ml per 100 cubic meters of water. The concentration of zooplankton volumes in the of lower part of the Gulf of Thailand occurred around the off shore stations. Mean plankton per station is lesser than 50 ml per 100 cubic meters of water. The highest abundance of plankton population in the eastern Gulf of Thailand encountered at Rayong and low volumes were observed in Sattahep and Chantaburi. Mean plankton volume per station during 1976-1988 ranged from 20.2-65.6 ml per 100 cubic meters of water. Significantly negative correlation was found between zooplankton biomass in the inner Gulf of Thailand and sampling depth. The higher number of zooplankton in the western Gulf preferred the lower depth habitat ( LT 50 m). The seasonal variation of zooplankton are positively correlated with sampling depth. Significantly negative correlation between zooplankton biomass-sampling depth found in the lower part of the Gulf. Positive significant correlation between zooplankton abundance-sampling depth and seasonal variation of zooplankton abundance-sampling depth found in the eastern Gulf.
