Conparative laboratory assessment of insecticidal action of carbofuran against caterpillars of some harnful Noctuids (subfam. Agrotinae) pests on some agriculture crops

Comparative laboratory trials were carried out to determine the insecticidal activity of carbofuran (Furadan 35 St as treating the seeds of Mays) on caterpillars of Agrotic ipsilon Hufn., Agrotis exlamationis L. and Xectia c-nigrum L. It was done comparison of Furadan 35 St with Furadan 10 G and Dursban 4E, used as standard. Treating of corn seeds with Furadan 35St gave high level of mortality of the caterpillars from emergence to 5-7 leaf. Furadan 35St was equivalent to the spraying with Dursban 4E. Efficacy of Furadan 10G was slighter. Furadan 35St has got well expressed initial efficacy on caterpillar of A. ipsilon, A. exclamationis and X. c-nigrum. Treating of seeds eliminate the necessity of using granulated insecticides and spraying with insecticides corn up to 5-7 leaf.
