Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis) is a kind of herbal tea and it is widely used for its benefical effects on health, linked to its high content of rich mix of polyphenols/flavonoids and their antioxidant properties. The purpuse of this study was to examine the effects of drinking of Rooibos tea upon disturbances in antioxidant status and other health injuries of workers occupationally exposed to lead and evaluate if the tea may be able to confer health benefit following its consumption.
