Se informa la presencia por primera vez para Cuba de Lophocateres pusillus (Klug) (Coleoptera: Ostomatidae) en arroz (Oryza sativa L., Gramineae) almacenado en las pro-vincias de Ciudad de La Habana, Sancti Spiritus y el municipio especial Isla de la Juventud. Se da la descripción de las características morfológicas diferenciales de la especie, así como de sus hábitos y distribución.

For the first time in Cuba, the presence of Lophocateres pusillus (Klug) (Coleoptera: Ostomatidae) in rice (Oryza sativa Gramineae) stored in the Havana, Sancti Spiritus, Camagüey province and the Isle of Youth municipality is reported. A description is given of the distinctive morphological characteristics of the species, as well a its habits and distribution.
