Spanish; Castilian. Se ofrece una lista taxonómica de los ácaros detectados sobre el cultivo del cacaotero en la provincia de Guantánamo, principal productora de este cultivo en el país. Se informan los hábitos, daños, distribución e importancia actual de cada especie. Se detectaron ocho especies, cinco pertenecientes al Suborden Prostigmata y tres al Suborden Astigmata e incluidas en las familias Tetranychidae, Tenuipalpidae, Tuckerellidae y Acaridae. Todas las especies detectadas son nuevos informes para el cultivo y una de ellas, Oligonychus mac gregori constituye un nuevo reporte para la acarofauna del país. De los ácaros detectados son significantes y merecen atención el Tetranychus mexicanus, Oligonychus mac gregori y Rhizoglyphus setosus.
Show more [+] Less [-]English. A taxonomic list is offered of the mites detected on cacao-tree in the Guantánamo province where most of this crop is grown in Cuba. Information is given on the habits, damages, distribution and present importance of each mite species. Eight such species were detected, five of them belonging to them suborder Astigmata and being members of the Tetranychidae, Tenuipalpidae, Tuckerellidae and Acaridae families. All the detected species are new reports for Cuba's acarofauna. Among the detected mites the significant and noteworthy ones are: Tetranychus mexicanus, Oligonychus mac gregori and Rhizoglyphus setosus.
