Evaluación de variedades y líneas de arroz (O. sativa) para resistencia al hongo Pyricularia oryzae.

Se evaluaron un grupo de variedades y líneas de arroz para estudiar la resistencia al hongo Piricularia oryzae en las Estaciones Experimentales de 'Guanamón' y 'Los Palacios', Pinar del Río. En la primera se realizaron 9 evaluaciones, 5 en el año 1973 y 4 en 1974, y en la segunda se efectuó sólo una evaluación en el año 1974. La metodología empleada fue la propuesta por Ou (1965). Las líneas 'IR-1544-340' e 'IR-1529-430' y las variedades tradicionales 'Gloria' y 'Century Patna' presentaron resistencia en las pruebas realizadas en ambas localidades. La variedad 'Cica-4' que actualmente se encuentra en producción, mostró reacción de moderadamente susceptible en una de las pruebas llevadas e cabo en 'Guanamón' y resistencia en las pruebas restantes. Las sucesivas evaluaciones de variedades y líneas presentaron variación en la reacción a la Piricularia en dependencia de la época y la localidad, lo que hace suponer la presencia de diferentes razas patogénicas.

English. A group of varieties and lines were evaluated to determine their resistance to the Piricularia oryzae fungus at 'Guanamón' and 'Los Palacios' Research Stations. In the formernine evaluations were made, five in 1973 and four in 1974 and in the latter only one evaluation was made in 1974. The methodology used was the same one that was recommended and adopted in the Piricularia oryzae Simposium with some modifications in the proposed plantation design by Ou (1965). The 'IR-1544-340' and 'IR-1529-430' lines and the traditional varieties, 'Gloria' and 'Century Patna' showed resistance in the test performed en both places. The 'Cica-4' variety which is under commercial exploitation at present showed a moderately susceptible reaction in one of the test carried out at 'Guanamón', showing resistance in the rest of the trials. The next evaluations of varieties and rice lines showed a variation on the reaction to the Piricularia, depending on the season and the locality. It makes us suppose the appearance of different pathogenic strains.
