Nemátodos agalleros que atacan al cafeto. Tendencias actuales para su manejo: revisión de literatura, 1983-1996.

Se revisó la literatura publicada entre 1983 y 1996 acerca de los nematodos del género Meloidogyne que parasitan al cafeto (Coffea spp.), así como las tendencias actuales para su manejo. Se consultaron 123 artículos, procedentes de revistas de amplia circulación internacional, así como libros, tesis doctorales y otros materiales de reciente edición. Se han reportado 17 especies de Meloidogyne, género que ha recibido mayor atención por investigadores y productores (63% de los artículos). Se encontró que en América se concentra el mayor volumen de trabajos (70.96%), con un peso fundamental en Brasil. Por otra parte, las investigaciones correspondiente al manejo constituyeron el 56.77%, y en este aspecto la búsqueda y/o utilización de variedades de cafeto con resistencia a nematodos fue la medida más empleada.

English. The literature published between 1983-1996 about the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) which are parasitc to coffee (Coffea spp.), and the present tendency in their management was reviwed. A total of 123 articles was consulted, all of them aparence review of world wide circulation, and too was studied some books, Ph D. thesis and other documents, edited recently. Seventeen species of Meloidogyne affected this crop in the world, and this is the genus who received more atention to the researches and producers because about the 63% of the articles corresponding to these genus. We found that in America the research are more intensive and in this sence the hight percent was conducted here (70.96%), mainly in Brasil. On the other hand, the research corresponding to the management was the 56.77% and in this sence the research ad/or utilization of the resistance cultivar of coffee was the tactic more utilizated.
