Efecto de algunos insecticidas de origen natural y sintéticos sobre Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) del tomate en Panamá.

Spanish; Castilian. Se evaluó el efecto de algunos insecticidas de origen natural y sintéticos sobre Bemisia tabaci en tomate, en tres experimentos de campo, realizados durante 1998 y 1999 en Panamá. Los experimentos se llevaron a cabo en la provincia de Los Santos. Los tratamientos evaluados fueron NeemAzal-T/S (NAzal- T/S), Thiodan, Confidor 70 WG (C70 WG), Gaucho FS 600 Rot a dos concentraciones y el testigo (sin tratar). Las poblaciones más bajas de ninfas+huevos de B. tabaci se encontraron con el C70 WG. Los síntomas de virosis sólo se encontraron en el primer experimento. El porcentaje de plantas con síntomas de virosis más bajo fue significante en plantas tratadas con C70 WG antes de la floración, en comparación con los otros tratamientos. Los rendimientos más altos se obtuvieron con C70 WG y los más bajos con NAzal-T/S.

English. During 1998 and 1999, three field experiments were performed in Panama in order to evaluate the effect of natural and synthetic insecticides on Bemisia tabaci in tomato. The experiments were carried out in the province of Los Santos. The evaluated treatments were NeemAzal-T/S (NAzal-T/ S), Thiodan, Confidor 70 WG (C70 WG), Gaucho FS 600 Rot at two concentrations and control (untreated). The lowest population of B. tabaci was found in the treatments with C70 WG. The virus symptoms were found only in the first experiment. Plant percentage was significant lower in plants treated with C70 WG before flowering, in comparison to the other treatments. The highest yields were obtained with C70 WG and the lowest ones obtained with NAzal-T/S.
