Spanish; Castilian. Se evaluó el efecto que tiene la procedencia de la presa Polyphagotarsonemus latus, sobre diferentes aspectos de la biología de Amblyseius largoensis. Se determinaron la duración del desarrollo y el período de preoviposición, así como la fecundidad y la tasa de oviposición diaria. Se detectó que no existen diferencias significativas en la duración del desarrollo y en el período de preoviposición de A. largoensis cuando se alimentó de P. latus criado sobre tres sustratos diferentes. Sin embargo, la fecundidad y la media de huevos por hembra por día fue significativamente mayor sobre Citrus latifolia, en comparación con Solanum tuberosum. El resultado sobre Capsicum annuum no difirió de los dos restantes sustratos.

The development and preoviposition periods, fecundity and the number of eggs laid per female per day were determined. Not significant differences were observed in the duration of life-history and preoviposition periods of A. largoensis reared in P. latus on three different substrates. The fecundity and average number of eggs laid per female per day of A. largoensis were significantly higher on Citrus latifolia, in comparison with Solanum tuberosum. The result of Capsicum annuum did not differed from the other two substrates.
