Effect of different densities of wild oat on wheat yield

Khuzestan province is one of the major regions of wheat production In Iran . Wheat fields in this area are infested wild oat which cause considerable reduction of yield anually. In order to investigate wild oat competition with wheat and its effect on wheat yield. This study was conducted during 1997 and 1998 at safiabad agricultural research center. Experimental design was split- plot with 4 replications. Main plots contained 8 densities of wild oat at square meter and sub plots contained two rates of wheat seeding at the rate 130 and 200 kg/ha. Number of tillers , wheat spikes number per square meter , weight of 1000 seeds and wheat yield were decreased by increase of infesting of wild oat in two wheat density. The reduction of Number of tillers , wheat spikes number and#1634and#1641and wheat yield were significant .
