Study of Dry Land Durum Wheet Varieties/ lines in yield comparison international trials.
2004

In order to obtion high yielding varieties and to find varieties with suitable characters such as resistance to lodging, disease, drought and other unfavaurable environmental condition, a study was carried out at Agricultural station of Gonbad in 2001-2002. The study consisted of 216 lines and varieties of durum wheat which was carried out in replicated and observational trials. The trials were as follows: 1-Replicated yield trials of durum wheat which consisted of two experiments: DWYT-MTA and DWYT-MCA. Every experiment was done in a Randomaized Complete Block Design replicated 3 times with 24 lines and varieties of durum wheat. Each plot contained six 3.5-meter long rows and 20 centimeters apart. At harvest, six 3-meter long rows were harvested. The results showed significant different between lines in both of trials, that genotypes 6 and 6 had the highest grain yield, than of Saymareh check, respectively. The genotype 20 had significantly higher grain yield (5449 Kg/ha) than that of Saymareh check(4556 Kg/ha) in DWYT-MCA. In general, 12 lines was selected for more advanced experiments. 2-Observation yield trial test (WON-D) consisted of 168 lines and every line and variety was planted in two 2.5- meter long rows, thirty centimeters apart. The result revealed that 34 lines had higher yield than that of Saymareh check, therefore they were selected for more advanced experiments.
