Residual mycotoxins and pesticides in feeds may exhibit a variety of toxic effects and bring economic losses in poultry industry through impairment of animal health and production of animal products contaminated with toxic substances. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has established guidelines for these chemicals in feeds. Recently, several field cases of gizzard erosion have occurred in chickens fed fish meal imported from South America. We should pay attention to the quality of feed stuffs.
