A botanical feed additive from local plants components was elaborated for the needs of organic farming poultry branch. Flores Calendulae, Folia et herba Urticae, Cortex Quercus and other botanic ingredients were included in its composition. Metabolic processes in poultry organism were favored by a 1% botanical additive supplement to the daily ration of broilers and laying hens. Pyruvic acid level in the blood of broilers and laying hens decreased correspondingly by 4.20 mg kgE-1 and 6.47 mg kgE-1, glucose - by 199.9 mg kgE-1 and 156.30 mg kgE-1, cholesterol - by 0.23 g kgE-1 and 0.10 g kgE-1, but carotenoids content increased correspondingly by 0.9 mg kgE-1 and 0.4 mg kgE-1. Moreover, the decrease of cholesterol content in broiler and laying hens muscle tissue (by 0.04 g kgE-1) and egg yolk (by 0.26 g kgE-1) was promoted. Broilers live weight increased by 2.8% and laying intensity of laying hens increased by 3.2% in comparison with the control group.
