[Significance of moisture in soil, and its possibilities to remain there]

The article deals with the suggestions of how to keep up moisture in soil. Main source of water is precipitations. In Latvia usually average amount of precipitations are 600-700 mm per year. Due to climate change, amount of precipitations have decreased in Latvia causing serious problems to farmers. One of them is moisture content deficit in soil. Plants develop in soils with better structure, i.e. in soils with good organic matter content. Important factor is soil density. Plants feel the best at the soil density 1.2-1.4 g/cm**3.
