A highly sensitive indigogenic method for staining endosperm esterases electrophoretically separated, depending on the reaction between indoxyl and tetrazolium salt with its cosequent reduction is described. The role of this method in relation to histochemical aspects for revealing another hydrolytic enzymes is discussed.
