There were 80 restorers selected from 169 entries. The selected restorers were crossed with the three CMS lines for combining ability trial. Seven crosses were done involving restorer x restorer to pyramid. In all the entries, several data were gathered: phenotypic evaluation, plant height, tiller number, panicle length, number of filled grains per panicle, number of untilled grains per panicle, spikelet number per panicle and % seed set. Based on phenotype and information, 48 entries of the 169 restorers established were selected as parents of future super restorers to be developed.
