Fourteen promising elite hybrids were tested and evaluated on their adaptability against the international checks IR72 and PSB Rc2; national checks PSB Rc72 and PSB Rc82 and local checks NSIC Rc 116H and PSB Rc18 in irrigated environment in Negros Occidental from June to November (WS) cropping. Analyses of variance showed significant (P 0.01) differences in 1000-grain weight and spikelet number among entries, but showed no significant differences in spikelet fertility, panicle number and grain yield among the entries and between entries and checks. This maybe due to their differences (P0.01) in reaction in bacterial leaf streak (BLS), which severely infected the trial. PSB Rc82 was resistant to BLS, five were intermediate, and the rest were succeptible. PSB Rc82 was the highest yielder (2.41 t/ha) among the checks and IR 777266 H (3t/ha) yielded highest among the hybrid rice entries.
