The insect pollination of three species of cucurbits, namely loofah (Luffa cylindrica L.) watermelon (Citrulus lunatus L.) and cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) was studied at Mariano Marcos State University, Batac, Ilocos Norte. Fruit set, weight and number of seeds in bee-pollinated cucurbits (caged with bees) were significantly higher in open plots (uncaged plants). The pollinators observed in the open-pollinated treatment were stingless bees, soldier flies, solitary bees, ants, butterflies and carpenter bees.
