Effects of pheasant introduction in western Lublin region (Poland) were evaluated in the paper. The study was performed in 1996-98 and they consisted in ringing the pheasants introduced into the hunting areas. The birds were rung during purchase by hunting circles in a breeding center. Then data on hunting the run pheasants were collected. The results point out to a low percentage of hunted pheasants with rings in relation to the number of released one. It proves high mortality among birds from farming
