The aim of investigations was evaluation of rimsulfuron degradation rate in soil depending on tillage system. The phytotoxic effects of rimsulfuron and nicosulfuron for white mustard (test plant) sowed (layer 0-10 cm) in conventional and reduced soil tillage systems were observed in samples taken at 2-6 weeks after herbicide application (decrease of dry weight in comparison to control objects). In soil samples taken from layer 10-20 cm, for both systems of tillage the toxic residues were observed to 8 weeks after treatment, but in samples taken at harvest time the phytotoxic effects were not observed
