Effect of growth regulators, applied alone or in combinations with magnesium sulfate on phosphorus economy in buckwheat plants

The aim of this work was determination of effects of growth regulators and their mixtures with magnesium sulphate on content and distribution of phosphorus in buckwheat plants. Growth regulators - benzylaminopurine (BAP), alpha-naphthylacetic acid (NAA), triacontanol (TRIA) and gibberellic acid (GA) - were applied to leaves, alone or in combinations with a 5 percent aqueous solution of magnesium sulphate. It was found that the growth regulators applied in the experiment (except BAP) caused a considerable increase in the phosphorus content of buckwheat leaves. A significant interaction was observed between BAP and TRIA with magnesium sulphate with respect to phosphorus concentration in stems and leaves in treatments with NAA, TRIA and GA, with magnesium sulphate
