In 1991-93 studies on the period and abundance of flowering, flower development as well as on nectar and pollen productivity of 3 perennials: Bergenia lingulata, B. cordifolia and Heuchera x bryzoides [H. brizoides] were carried out in Lublin area in Poland. Flower visitors were also monitored. Flowering of Bergenia species started at the beginning of April and ended in the middle of May. Blooming of H. x bryzoides lasted from the middle of May through the middle of July. The studied plants developed numerous flowers - the mean number of flowers per plant reached 3044 (H. x bryzoides). Protogynous Bergenia flowers lived about 8 days while the life span of protandrous H. x bryzoides flowers was approx. 5.5 days. Floral receptacular nectaries are present
