The influence of two regeneration cutting heights of the Titania black currant cultivar on the growth and yield quality traits

In the years 2000-02 experiment was conducted on Titania cultivar of black currant. The bushes were planted in the year 2000, at the spacing 3.5 x 0.5 m. Starting from the second year of the experiment regeneration after-harvest cutting at the height of 5 and 20 cm above ground was applied to the bushes planted in spring 2000. The aim of the experiment was to examine the possibility of fast shoot regeneration as a result of replacing the spring cutting with after-harvest cutting and evaluation of cutting height. The after-harvest cutting resulted in the growth of new shoot at the same vegetation period. As a result of high cutting there were more shoots, but shorter ones in comparison to low cutting. The cutting lowered the yield in the second year after that to approximately 50 percent of the crop in comparison to the noncut bushes. As a result of the cutting the mass at one fruit grew, but the content of vitamin C and the extract fell slightly and the acidity of the fruit lowered.
