In this paper priorities and development policies of small water retention in dependence in catchments land use according to - The small water retention program for the Bydgoskie province (Poland) are presented. These priorities have been shown on an example of two catchments: a part of the upper Notec river catchment used agriculturally and a forested part of the Brda river catchment with a landscape and tourist amenities.
