Content of heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene in soils from the area exposed on contamination of Wroclaw and Wroclaw administrative district [Poland]

In this paper the results of investigations on the heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene contents in soils and vegetables are presented. The areas of research was located near sources of contamination: dumping grounds, plants, quarry, etc. of Wroclaw and Wroclaw Administratvie District (Poland). The soil samples were collected mainly from the arable lands because of the possibility pollutants bioaccumulation and exposure of humans. It hasn't been stated the considerable concentration of heavy metals in soils collected from neighbourhood of dumping grounds, but the concentration of benzo(a)pyrene at half of the soils under investigation could be consider as contaminated. Significant difference in heavy metals and macronutrients content was stated between allotments and located on the area of Wroclaw
