The aim of this study is to analyze phenotypic expression and variability of stillborn piglets and to predict phenotypic correlations of number of stillborn piglets with the litter size. Average number of stillborn piglets in the period from 1986 to 1996 was 0.77. Number of stillborn piglets raised in the higher parities. Our results for phenotypic and genotypic correlations were 0.218 and 0.803 +/- 0.402, till heritability index was 0.017 +/- 0.013 for the number of stillborn piglets and 0.049 +/- 0.018 for the litter size. Cold season has a great impact on the number of stillborn piglets. Duroc has a small number of stillborn but crosses between LW and a Dutch Landrace has more stillborn piglets than the other races and crosses (0.50:1.20).
