In the last years in the Republic of Serbia it is present the tendency of continuous decreasing of vineyard area, which needs to take steps to stop this negative tendency. Total vineyard area in Serbia is decreased from 99974 hectars in the period of 1980-1982 to 72045 hectars in the periods 1998-2000. In the analyzed period of 1980-2000 vineyard area has decreasing tendency, with the annual rate of change of - 1.54%. It is expected that the stabilization of vineyard production in Serbia will influence the increase of vineyard capacities. The plan of needs for grape seedlings in vineyard production of Serbia till 2010 was analyzed in two variations. According the the 1st variation, it is necessary to ensure 2148 hectars of young plants of grape vine, that means yearly, about 7.2 millins of vine spools. In that case it would be satisfied simple reproduction of vineyard production. That means keeping the level of vineyard area at present level (about 60000 hectars). According to the 2nd variation, it is necessary to ensure yearly about 9.5 millions of vine spools, that means 80000 hectars of vineyard area.
