Clonal micropropagation of blackberry in vitro

Experiment was carried out aiming to develop technique for in vitro propagation of blackberry (Rubus sp.) plants. Multiplication was done from axillary buds, which were collected from selected blackberry shruby trees grown on a collection stand. Four blackberry cultivars were used for micropropagation: Cacanska Beztrna, Black Satin, Hull Thornless, and Thornfree. The satisfactory results obtained indicate that this method could be used for large scale production of identical disease-free blackberry plants.
