In this paper influence of livestock production to environment, as well as some instruments which can be used for reduction or elimination of negative externalities are perceived. The fact is that intensive livestock production has become serious polluter environment. But, it must be taken into consideration that animals are never provoker of pollution. Pollution is always caused by people who manage production. That is why they must solve pollution problems. Many instruments which can be used for those purposes are developed. There are numerous criteria for choosing the appropriate instrument. One instrument, however, rarely can make all criteria contented. The right solution must be found in combination of instruments and their adaptation to concrete conditions in order to achieve certain quality of environment.
