Variability and heritability of body measurements in performance tested Simmental bulls

The analyse variability and heritability of body measurements data of 371 performance tested Simmental bulls were used. Average test-off height at withers, circumference of chest, depth of chest, width of round, width of hip and body length were 126.00 cm, 184.76 cm, 60.90 cm, 47.63 cm, 44.14 cm, 147.57 cm, respectively. Heritability estimates for test-off height at withers, circumference of chest, depth of chest and body length were 0.43, 0.30, 0.33 and 0.29.
