Stamenkovic, S.(Naucni institut za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, Novi Sad (Serbia))
Senn pest abundance at the permanent wintering sites abruptly dropped in 2005. In fall of 2005, imago densities at the Fruska Gora mountain and in Deliblato Sands were 11.6/square meter and 13.4/square meter, respectively (12.5 / square meter on average). Of the total number of the pests at wintering sites in fall 2005, Eurygaster austriaca was dominant with 52.1% followed by E. maura (39.3%) and species from the genus Aelia (8.6%), while the average natural mortality was 1.9% (E. austriaca 1.5%, E. maura 2.8%). The sex ratio was female skewed, 1:0.8 in E. austriaca and 1:0.7 in E. maura. The relative abundances differed among the surveyed locations, as is commonly the case. Thus, at the location of Fruska Gora, E. austriaca was dominant with 77.9%, followed by E. maura (20.0%) and Aelia spp. (2.1%). In Deliblato Sands E. maura predominated with 56.0%, followed by E. austriaca (29.6%) and Aelia spp. (14.4%).
