We are presented the data of fish production and fish catch in our country and in the World. It was concluded that fish production in Serbia is unsufficient. Fish consumption is also small with tendency of increasing in the future. Import of fresh and preserved fish has an increasing trend and considerable foreign currency is spent (over 53.400.000 USD per year). Trade and marketing need to be improved, also auction market in order to enable owner of the fish farms secure price and selling of their product. Export of fish and fish products is extremely low. Therefore it is necessary to increase production. One way is to renew the export with support by government measures.
