Carrot is important vegetable, can be infected with great number of plant pathogens. Fungus, Alternaria dauci, the causal agent of leaf spot and decay, is one of the most important in many regions in the world. This disease directly or indirectly reduces yield every year. Host range of this pathogen is reduced to carrot. Disease control measures should include sowing pathogen free seed, crop rotation, regular plant debris sanitation, fungicide treatment during carrot vegetation and other agrotechnical and phytosanitary measures.
