Efficiency of central aeration system in the bagging section of sunflower seed processing plant

Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops from Novi Sad, Serbia, obtained an ISO 14000 certificate for compliance with ecological standards in 2004. When designing the bagging section in the seed processing plant which was put in operation in 2005, compliance with the certificate was an important condition. The other conditions were: that the seed is not damaged during bagging on the scale, that scale precision is +/- 0.020, that clogging is prevented in the pipeline providing a continual flow of seed to the buffer bin, that the scale is reliable in operation. Efficiency of the technical solutions used in meeting the project requirements was checked by testing several parameters. This paper deals with the results of air purify measurements which served as indicators of the central aeration system efficiency.
