Use of Ross and Kenics static mixers as laboratory sample dividers of grain and powder materials

Sampling a representative split from a large sample is not as simple as many believe. Rolling on a mat, multiple grabs or riffle splitting do not produce an accurate split. For reduction of mass and homogenization of liquid samples, every laboratory has own choice and there are no all accepted equipment for this use. The task of our investigation was to examine use of ROSS and KENICS static mixers, for mass reduction of laboratory samples like wheat and grounded corn with different granulation.
