A computer model for the estimation of the economic feasibility of biodiesel production

A mathematical model was developed by applying theoretical knowledge and practical experience to estimate the economic feasibility of biodiesel production. This mathematical method takes into consideration all of the relevant expenditures which appear during the processing of biodiesel in different sized biodiesel production facilities. The model was tested and presented on a biodiesel plant with the capacity of 10,000 tones per year using rapeseed as feedstock. The obtained results reveal that the program can successfully supply the user with real data about expenditures of biodiesel processing and economic efficiency at current market conditions.
