Application of pharmacologically active substances in cattle production - harmonizing with the EU regulations

In field of veterinary medicine pharmacologically active substances presents a potential danger for human health because of a possible presence of residua in the food of animal origin, and of a possible transfer of the resistant bacteria from animals to humans. Toxic reaction in humans includes allergic reactions, and anaphylactic reaction, a carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic effect. The primary assignment in the process of adjustment regulations according to the demands of EU is to control the application of the pharmacologically active substances, holding to carenca and to control residua in food of animal origin.
