Bacterial diseases of oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) are not of greater economic importance. Literature data about bacterial diseases of oilseed rape are quite rare. As causers of turnip bacterial diseases mainly were cited Pseudomonas destructans (Erwinia carotovora var. carotovora) causer soft rot of root, P. maculicola (P. syringae pv. maculicola) and Xanthomonas campestris (X. campestris pv. campestris) causers of spot diseases. According to new literature data bacterium P. brassicacearum sp. nov. was isolated from rhizoplane of Brassica napus root.
