For the second cosecutive year, the abundance of Sunn pest imagoes contributed to decline. In the fall of 2006, the average density of Sunn pest imagoes at overwintering sites at the permanent sampling locations in Fruska Gora and Deliblatska Pescara (Serbia) was 9.4 specimens per square meter, down from the average density of 12.5 imagoes per square meter in 2005. The decreasing trend in abundance in 2005 and 2006 indicates that Sunn pests will not be a threat for crops in Serbia in the 2007 growing season. For the first time, the dominant Sunn pest species were those of the genus Aelia (with 45.8% contribution), followed by Eurygaster austriaca (35.3%) and Eurygaster maura L. (18.9%). Differences were observed between the locations, as had often been the case in prior years.
