The paper analyses the situation on the fruit and vegetable market in the EU and describes the rules of its organisation, which take source in the Council Regulation (EC) No.2200/96. Work also indicates the situation in Slovakia, as well as the main differences between the EU and the SR in this area. For Slovakia, especially for our fruit and vegetable farmers, there are some problems to be solved, for they can profit from advantages of the common market.
