The paper herein shows an overview of modern methods for removal of oil and oil derivates from wastewater based on the following: air flotation, filtration and membrane process. The paper shall also present the advantages and disadvantages of the methods concerned as well as their effectiveness. Numerous researches have shown that an effective plant can be obtained only by the mentioned methods and combination there of that shall be used during the separation of oil and oil derivates in wastewater treatment process.
