Thermotherapy is one of the modes for both elimination of viruses and other infectious pathogens from parts of tissue of infected woody plants and obtaining initial virus-free planting material. The interest of our producers is to adapt to the requirements of modern European and World market, therefore virus-free and virus-tested planting material of cultivars in demand should be available. The paper presents the results of elimination of viruses from apple cv Fuji Naga-Fu 2 by thermotherapy at 37 deg C over 6 weeks as well as by subsequent grafting of the shoot tips onto healthy vegetative rootstocks. The elimination of viruses was proved by retesting of the obtained plants by biological, serological and molecular tests.
