The height of the seedlings used in the research was between 26.68 cm in cv Kacmorka, and 52.46 cm in cv Sijerak. The thickness of the seedlings in the examined autochthonous pear cultivars ranged between 3.37 cm in cv Kacmorka, and 5.75 cm in cv Sijerak. The vigour of the seedlings showed variations, too. Cv Kacmorka showed low vigour in its seedlings, while the medium vigour was found in cvs Kalicanka, Medunak, Jarac and Jerebasma. Cvs Lubenicarka, Buzdovanka, Tursijaca and the selected type of wild pear, all showed high vigour of seedlings, while excepcionally high vigour was recorded in cv Sijerak. The seedlings showed various levels of variability. An exceptionally high level of variability was recorded in cv Sijerak, while a high variability level was found in cvs Lubenicarka, Tursijaca and the selected type of wild pear. Medium variability was detected in cv Buzdovanka, and the low variability was found in cvs Kacmorka, Kalicanka, Medunak, Jarac and Jerebasma. From the point of view of the production of generative rootstock, cv Kalicanka proved to be the most interesting one, since it produced low-vigour and low-variability seedlings.
