[Characteristics of potato production in Balkan countries]

Basic aim of this study is to perceive trends of potato production in Balkan countries, with special attention to the position and significance of Serbia. The task of this study is to perceive conditions which bringed to changes in that trends. Primary resources of informations are taken from statistical database FAO. In this study are used standard statistical-mathematics methods. In observing period (2000-2005) potato production in Balkan countries have trend of decrease, per average rate 0.42% yearly. This is conditioned by reduction of area harvested of potato, transitions in agriculture, in definitely status capacity for treatment. According to natured yield Serbia significantly lagging in relation to Balkan average, particularly to Europe average.
